Once upon a time, we started out on a journey through Information Technology.

While we covered many different topics and units, we also had a mix of individual and group work.

Here is your opportunity to provide me with some feedback on what went well with the course and how could it be improved for future IT classes.

FINAL PROJECT – GUIDED PORTFOLIO TOUR

Task: Create a screencast-o-matic tour of your website and embed it in your blog. This will be the first page that people will see when directed to your website.

Purpose: The purpose of this tour is to help new viewers navigate through your website, while also giving you a chance to reflect upon your work and showcase YOUR BEST WORK.

Tour should include:
• Introduction to each page and a description of the work that you did
• Reflections for each page
• Texted comments and Voice over included in the tour! (this can be done on your own time and at home)  PLEASE INDICATE AT THE BEGINNING OF YOUR TOUR IF IT HAS VOICE OVER VIA A TEXT COMMENT

• students will continue to present their Hardware Prezi’s.
• This is an individual assignment.
• students are to go through their News Portfolios Posts and make sure that they have 7 articles completed and that they have identified their stakeholders, included a personal reflection, and also have a series of questions.
• These will be used in a future assignment and are expected to be completed.

Day Plan – Tues Sept. 27th

Dear students,

I am sorry that I am not able to attend class today, however I am sure you will have a productive class with the TOC and with your required work.

2 – IT 11/12
students are working on their last day of their hardware wordpress page and prezi. All groups should be ready to present for tomorrow. I want someone from each group to leave me a comment on this page indicating that they are ready or if they have any challenges. They must have 5 discussion questions on their wordpress to facilitate an online discussion.
If finished, students can add a news article to their wordpress blog…and comment on at least 3 other people’s articles.

3 – IT 8
Students are working on their MovieMaker projects and they need to be reviewed how to “add a title, credit, music” and also how to “finish their project” within MovieMaker.

Required:
• 10 – 15 pictures (no video clips are required)
• Effects on each picture (try using at least 5 different effects – example: ease in , ease out, greyscale, old, etc.)
• Tranistions between the pictures
• Title at the beginning: Name, theme title
• Credits at the ending: Information Technology, prepared by: _______________, music by:_______________________, pictures from _________________________
• If they brought in their own music they are welcome to use that otherwise there is some music in the “my music” sample folder.
• Finish the movie and save it directly to their folder on the S:drive. Save it as “Theirname_it8_theme_name”

Students are working on Photoshop tutorials. They are in various stages with varied skills and experience. This is a self paced exploratory unit, and students are to post a comment on their wordpress page title “PhotoShop” that details what they accomplished and worked on today as well as any challenges they encountered.  If students want a break from their PhotoShop unit, then they can add another technology article to their wordpress blog.

As students have access to facebook at home, should I be allowing them to go on facebook during class time?

First Prezi

This is my first blog attempt.  Actually, my second as the first one got deleted or went missing in cyberspace as I saved it as a “draft”.

I want to try and include my first Prezi presentation…and I would also like to use wordpress as a resource tool for my IT students.
